On the road to Andalusia !

You could believe that the south of Spain is an endless no man's land where you can only find rocks, snakes and unfriendly old farmers... Well, there is that... But luckily for you fellow traveller, Andalusia is also a genuine goldmine : whether you like heavenly places, romantic landscapes on the seashore, tremendous architecture and history, or you would simply like to enjoy your holidays with good food and party all night long, prepare to be amazed ! Because Andalusia can give you all of that and so much more, like you have never seen in your entire life... Let me walk you through your first trip to this land.

First, the looks... Yes, it is really hot out there, and you would kill for some water. Look around ! There are some hidden lakes in those arid lands that can please your eyes and your exhausted body : take a swim and open yourself to this new environment which is about to conquer you... When rested, you will find on your way traditional white villages, like Mijas lost in the hills with their “Burro Taxis” (Donkeys that can carry you anywhere you want in the area). Intrigued at first, you get used to their way of living : getting up late, quiet day, the traditional “siesta”, and then party at night ! And the best place to do that is naturally the coast : palm trees, the soft wind of the mediterranean sea, and night clubs, that is the atmosphere of Torre Del Mar !

Then, when you get settled, the sun wakes up the tourist inside you... You start visiting, you want to explore the history of Malaga, Sevilla, or the wonderful city of Cordoba, illuminated at night. If you want to learn more about the legacy of Arabic culture in Andalusia you must not miss the famous Alhambra with incredible architecture and artwork surrounded by the majestic gardens of the palace. At dawn, hunger stops you from continuing your historical journey. Here is the perfect place to get some rest and enjoy both the view and delicious tapas or a paella with your new friends : Nerja, El Balcon de Europa. This “Balcony” on the sea shore is famous throughout Europe, with a crowded central plaza at night showing various animations : artists, dancers, nightwalks, horse-drawn carriages...

Indeed, I am already talking about your friends, because you will soon have many of them in Spain. People there are genereally full of life and willing to make the most of everything they do in all circumstances, that's why you will quickly spend joyful evenings, often including sangria and other alcohols. You can also find any type of food you want : fast-food, gastronomy, and traditional food. Concerning this last one, there are places very hard to find but which are definitely worth a shot, if you are interested, you have to try “El Pato Loco” (The Mad Duck), wooden establishment lost in the land, near Alhama de Granada, where you will enjoy a delicious meal before diving in the pool behind the bar...
